⚡️🇦🇪🛢️The United Arab Emirates have announced their exit from OPEC and OPEC+, effective from 1 May 2026.
🔻With the decision Abu Dhabi will no longer be bound by the production quotas agreed upon between exporting countries and will be able to increase oil extraction freely.
🔻The Emirati government aims to bring production capacity from the current 4.85 million barrels per day to 5 million barrels per day by 2027.
🔻The choice also reflects divergences with Saudi Arabia and the desire to maximise oil revenues before a possible structural slowdown in global demand in the coming decades.
