🔻 Despite this, the Israeli intelligence assessments of civilian victims, around 40,000, are already considered too low by independent estimates that speak today of over 80,000 victims in total, direct and indirect, bringing the ratio to levels far superior.

🔻 These data contradict the official statements that spoke of a ratio close to 1:1. A similar rate of civilian victims has few precedents in modern conflicts, comparable so far only to genocides and sieges such as in Rwanda or Srebrenica.
