⚡️🇮🇹🚄 From 21:00 yesterday to 20:59 today, a national strike by railway workers called by CUB Trasporti and SGB is underway. Cancellations and delays are reported for regional trains, Intercity, Frecce and freight connections throughout Italy, with disruptions at numerous stations including Milan, Rome, Naples and Bologna.

🔻 The strike contests the deterioration of contractual conditions, the increase in workload, outsourcing, the tender for the assignment of the Intercity service and safety conditions. The unions also demand adequate salary increases in line with inflation, lower workloads and greater job protection at night.

🔻 The mobilization comes after the death of railway worker Maher Ghrasli, who was run over during a maneuver. USB asks to clarify the conditions in which he worked, the passage of a train on the adjacent track and any possible exposure to extreme temperatures.
