⚡️🌍🌡️ Global ocean surface temperatures reached a historic record of 21.1°C on August 22, surpassing the previous record of 21.09°C set in March 2024, according to Copernicus.
🔻 The record comes as El Niño intensifies and adds to ocean warming caused by climate change. Copernicus also reports that days with marine heatwaves have more than tripled since the 1990s.
