Exploitation: ⚡️🇮🇹⚖️ The Prosecutor's Office of Prato accepted the plea bargain r...

⚡️🇮🇹⚖️ The Prosecutor's Office of Prato accepted the plea bargain requested by six Eni employees charged for the explosion of the Calenzano depot, which on December 9, 2024 killed five workers and injured 27 others. The agreed sentences range from 2 years to 2 years and 9 months.

🔻For five defendants the substitution of imprisonment with community service was requested, while for three the Prosecutor requested a trial postponement. In the explosion Gerardo Pepe, Franco Cirelli, Vincenzo Martinelli, Carmelo Corso and Davide Baronti lost their lives.

🔻According to the Prosecutor, the tragedy was “predictable” and “avoidable” and was preceded by “multiple errors” described as “serious and unforgivable.” Eni would have in fact allowed maintenance work to be carried out while the loading of the tanker trucks continued, in a high-risk explosion zone.
