⚡️🇮🇹🇵🇸🚁 A military helicopter flew over the Madleen, a ship of the Freedom Flotilla headed for Gaza, just a few minutes ago.

🔻 Today, the Freedom Flotilla set sail from the port of San Giovanni Li Cuti in Catania in an attempt to break the naval blockade imposed by Israel on Gaza and deliver humanitarian aid to the Palestinian population.

🔻 The departure was preceded by a massive popular mobilization in the city of Catania with hundreds of people at the port and thousands in procession in recent days. Aid, food, and medicines were loaded onto the ship thanks to the city's mobilization.

🔻 On board are activists from all over the world, including Greta Thunberg, actor Liam Cunningham, Franco-Palestinian European Parliamentarian Rima Hassan LFI , and members of MERA25/DiEM25.

🔻 The mission is not without risks. Last May 1st, a similar attempt was sabotaged by an Israeli drone with incendiary shots.
